Ange Postecoglou says £50m Tottenham player is ‘disappointed’ due to injury

Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Richarlison is set for several weeks on the sidelines due to a knee injury.

The Spurs manager says Richarlison is out for between three and four weeks, and admitted that his player is “disappointed” with this latest setback.

Richarlison had been in outstanding form for Tottenham after recovering from surgery to rectify a long-standing groin issue.

The Brazil international has scored 10 goals in 22 Premier League appearances, and nine of those have come in his last 10 matches.

However, Richarlison picked up an injury in Tottenham’s 2-1 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers last time out.

Tottenham star Richarlison set for ‘three to four’ weeks on the sidelines

Postecoglou, speaking to on Friday ahead of Spurs’ meeting with Crystal Palace, confirmed that his player won’t be back just yet.

The Tottenham boss also provided an update on other Spurs players ahead of Saturday’s 3pm Premier League kickoff at N17.

“Destiny (Udogie) has trained but Pedro is probably a week away,” said Postecoglou.

“Richarlison is out for three to four weeks. He picked up a knee injury last game and Sess is out, so still down a couple of numbers.

“Richy is disappointed because he’s been a key contributor, but that has been how our season has gone.

“With Sess, it is a tough one. He has worked hard to come back and it is always more challenging when it happens as a series of events.”

It’s a shame to hear that Richarlison is set for a fairly lengthy stint on the sidelines, particularly as he has been in such amazing form.

Tottenham have three games before the international break, so let’s hope that the is fully fit by the time Spurs host Luton Town on 30 March.
