Ange Postecoglou says £175k-a-week Tottenham star is not fit to play the full game vs Everton

Tottenham Hotspur take on Everton in their first home game of the 2024/25 Premier League season.

Ange Postecoglou’s side were held to a 1-1 draw against Lei꧃cester City in their opening game of the campaign. It was a really frustrating result as Spurs should’ve been out of sight by half-time.

Tottenham will be hoping to get all three points when Everton come to town on Saturday afternoon, but they have been dealt a pretty big blow ahead of the clash – Dominic Solank🥂e has been ruled out due to an injury.

Postecoglou has a few ⛄options to choose from to replace the Englishman, and he has now hinted who he could pick against Everton.

Ange Postecoglou says Tottenham’s Richarlison cannot play 90 minutes vs Everton

It must be really frustrating for Poste♑coglou to see Solanke get injured right on his ♔debut.

The former Bournemouth man is said to have suffered an ankle problem, and that will definitely keep him out of thꦑe game against Everton.

The Tottenham boss has a few options to choose from 🎃to start up front.

Heung-min Son pܫlayed a lot as a striker in the 2023/24 campaign, while Dejan Kulusevski also filled in there during this summer’s pre-season.

Richarlison is the other option, and Posteco🥂glou has confirmed that the Brazilia🎀n is ready to start after training with the squad for two full weeks. But, he is not fit enough to play the full 90 minutes against Everton.

Postecoglou said🌱 in his press conference, as per : “Richy has trained for two weeks. He’s ready to go.

“Obviously, hasn’t played f🅘or quite a while which you’♛ve got to [take into account] but he’s available and ready to go.”

In the embargoed s꧂ection of his press conference, Postecoglou : “He’s fit to start the game because he’s training but can he play 90 minutes? No!

“So, that’s where the decision lies. He came on last week, but ﷽match fitness is different and he hasn’t played a minute in pre-season. It’s where we give him his minutes.”
