Ange Postecoglou names the two players who changed the game for Tottenham vs Brentford
Ange Postecoglou has praised Tottenham Hotspur duo Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Brennan Johnson after last night’s 3-2 win over Brentford.
Spurs headed into halftime 1-0 down after Neal Maupay’s strike in the 15th minute.
The Frenchman riled up Tottenham’s players after copying James Maddison’s celebration, which led to a confrontation between the duo.
Postecoglou clearly wasn’t impressed with the first-half display and decided to make two changes at the break.
Both Oliver Skipp and Rodrigo Bentancur came off for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Brennan Johnson. The Aussie’s changes had the desired effect as Spurs netted three goals in the opening 11 minutes of the second half.
And it’s fair to say that Postecoglou was impressed with both Johnson and Hojbjerg, claiming the duo changed the game for Spurs last night.

Postecoglou says Hojbjerg and Johnson changed the game for Spurs vs Brentford
Speaking to ’s media team after the game, Postecoglou discussed what was an underwhelming first-half display.
“That’s the challenge for us as a team, you either get dragged into these things or you try and stand on your own two feet,” the Spurs boss said.
“It’s not about winning and losing as much as the kind of ultimate outcome for us. It’s about us as a football team how we want to play, how we want to behave, how we want to act and what’s important to us.
“They got back to that in the second half. I thought the two boys coming on, Pierre and Brennan, made a big difference and just generally the whole team had a much clearer focus.”

Destiny Udogie got Spurs back on level terms before Johnson netted their second of the evening.
The 22-year-old was dropped to the bench after a difficult run of form but a goal should boost his confidence.
As for Hojbjerg, he’s expected to fall down the pecking order after James Maddison’s return. But based on last night’s display, he still has an important role to play.
The Dane put in an impressive performance in midfield and helped Spurs progress the ball up the pitch with more haste in the second period.
