Ange Postecoglou left completely blown away by ‘super’ Tottenham defender after 4-1 win vs Ipswich Town
Tottenham Hotspur won their second successive game in the Premier League by thrashing Ipswich Town 2-1 on Saturday.
A brace from Brennan Johnson followed by goals from Djed Spence and Dejan Kulusevski rendered Omari Hutchinson’s strike as futile as Tottenham earned a well-deserved victory.
Tottenham fans slated Pedro Porro the last time both sides met each other as Ipswich won 2-1 but this Spurs side rewarded their supporters with one of the best performances of their season in their latest outing.
Ange Postecoglou will be delighted as after months of question marks around his future and the Lilywhites as a whole, he finally has some respite.
The former Celtic boss might be feeling a degree of vindication as Postecoglou predicted Tottenham to start winning again once their injuries situation eased up to some extent.
The Australian was spot on all along as the returns of James Maddison and Guglielmo Vicario have elevated them instantly.

Ange Postecoglou raves about Kevin Danso after Ipswich Town vs Tottenham
Another Tottenham player who looks like a man in form is Kevin Danso.
Danso, described as a “leader” at Tottenham was a rock at the back against Kieran McKenna’s side as he quietly goes about his business at the back.
Ange Postecoglou heralded Danso’s impact after his Tottenham side put Ipswich to the sword.
Postecoglou said via BeanymanSports: “I think he enjoys the whacks. He’s been great for us since he came in. He’s really taken to the club, taken to the group of players, taken on the challenge.”
“It’s not easy when you’re coming into a new club, and we’re asking him to come in and almost be a senior member. We still had three teenagers out there starting today, and a fourth coming on. It’s still a really young team. I think Kevin’s been a super addition for us.”
Danso is becoming a Tottenham fan favourite already and he will also be delighted that Ange Postecoglou is a fan of his quality and character.
Kevin Danso stats for Tottenham vs Ipswich Town
The Austrian, who is on loan from RC Lens seems to have made life easier for Ange Postecoglou as he still misses both Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.
The statistics certainly back Danso after his latest performance against Ipswich Town.
KEVIN DANSO STATS VS IPSWICH TOWN | |
AERIAL DUELS WON | 3/4 |
GROUND DUELS | 3/5 |
DRIBBLED PAST | 0 |
TACKLES AND INTERCEPTIONS | 2 |
ACCURATE PASSES | 84/92 (91%) |
Perhaps the only blemish on the 26-year-old’s performance was that Kalvin Phillips did dart past him in the build-up to Hutchinson’s goal.
Danso was caught out of position and in the future, he would be hoping not to leave his defence in such a vulnerable position.
But barring an isolated moment, the Tottenham new-boy played well.
Danso will be full of confidence after Ange Postecoglou’s kind words about his showing as he seems set to start against Manchester City now.
