Ange Postecoglou is now personally pushing to sign £26m player for Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou personally wants Radu Dragusin at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

That is according to journalist Rudy Galetti, who has reported on X how much Tottenham are willing to spend on Dragusin.

So, what has been reported about Tottenham Hotspur, Radu Dragusin and Ange Postecoglou? Let’s take a look.

Ange Postecoglou wants Radu Dragusin at Tottenham Hotspur

Well, according to Rudy Galetti on X, Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Radu Dragusin from Genoa in the January transfer window.

The Italian journalist has claimed that Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou personally likes Dragusin and is pushing for a deal to get done.

Galetti has reported that while Genoa are looking for €30 million (£26 million), Spurs are willing to pay €25 million (£21.69 million) for the Romania international central defender.

Fabrizio Romano has also reported that Tottenham are keen on bringing Dragusin to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the January transfer window.

The Italian journalist has claimed that the 21-year-old has already agreed personal terms with Spurs on a long-term contract and is willing to make the switch to the North London club in January.

Dragusin has scored two goals and given one assist in 18 Serie A matches for Genoa this season.

Tottenham are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League this campaign and get back into the UEFA Champions League.

My View: Tottenham should pay £26m for Dragusin

In my view, Tottenham Hotspur should pay £26 million for Genoa central defender Radu Dragusin and get the deal done early.

There is no need for Spurs to delay a potential move for the defender for a few extra million pounds.

If Postecoglou thinks that the Romania international centre-back, also linked with Nottingham Forest, is good enough for Spurs, then the club’s bosses should make it happen.

There is competition from Barcelona as well. According to , the Spanish club are willing to pay £26 million for Dragusin, who left Juventus for good in 2023.

Another defender who has been linked with Tottenham is Jarrad Branthwaite. reported this month that Spurs are keen on the defender, who is valued at £75 million by his club Everton.

Liverpool legend Graeme Souness rates Branthwaite highly and wrote in : “Here is a young defender, 21 years old, who has the full range of qualities – physique, pace and ability on the ball. And he looks like he can really defend in the left-sided centre half position. If he’s showing that ability at this age, it’s a good sign.

“At centre back, I always wanted experienced players, because any mistake they make generally leads to an effort on your goal – be it a shot or a header. But this boy already looks to be grasping the art of defending.

“As a left-footed centre half, he takes the ball on his left and opens the pitch up, which I like.”
