Ange Postecoglou has not yet decided if he will offload £25m Tottenham player in January

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou is yet to make a decision on the future of Ryan Sessegnon.

That is according to Football.London, which has suggested when Postecoglou could make a decision on Sessegnon, who has been linked with Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United.

So, what has been reported about Tottenham Hotspur left-back Ryan Sessegnon? Let’s take a look.

Ange Postecoglou’s current stance on Ryan Sessegnon

Well, Ryan Sessegnon has been linked with a move away from Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window.

The Independent reported last week that Manchester United could be interested in signing Sessegnon as a potential replacement for Sergio Reguilon.

Reguilon joined United on loan from Premier League rivals Tottenham in the summer of 2023, but the Red Devils have decided to send him back to Spurs. He could leave Tottenham again in January.

has now given an update on Sessegnon’s future at Tottenham. The report has claimed that Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou wants to take a close look at the left-back before making a decision, noting that Ben Davies is injured now.

The report states: “Davies has now picked up a hamstring injury and that coincides with the return from hamstring surgery of Ryan Sessegnon, who made his first appearance in exactly 11 months in coming off the bench against Burnley in the FA Cup third round win on Friday night.

“Postecoglou wants to take a good look at the 23-year-old before deciding what comes next for him. Sessegnon was set to go out on loan in the summer but Davies’ injury might make that more difficult this month and the former England Under-21s international’s ability to play down the entire left flank could make him a helpful option for the second half of the season if he is happy with bits and pieces of game time.”

My View: Ryan Sessegnon should stay at Tottenham Hotspur

In my opinion, Ryan Sessegnon should stay at Tottenham Hotspur for the second half of the season even if he is not used regularly by head coach Ange Postecoglou.

I do not think that there is any point in the £25 million () 23-year-old player leaving Spurs on loan just after returning to action from injury.

If Sessegnon is to have a long-term future at Tottenham, then he needs to work with Postecoglou on a regular basis, understand his system, impress him in training and then make the most of the chances he gets in matches.
