Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou singled out youngster Liel Abada for special praise after his display in a Champions League qualifier on Tuesday night.
The Hoops started the new season with a 1-1 home draw against Danish opposition FC Midtjylland. It means the teams are locked together after the first leg of their Champions League second round qualifier.
If the Scottish giants can prevail in next week’s second leg against Midtjylland, they’ll face either PSV Eindhoven or Galatasaray in the next round of qualifying.
Celtic, who dominated with 63 per cent possession last night, should have beat Midtjylland on the balance of play.
They missed a number of goalscoring opportunity. However, summer signing Abada put them ahead in the first half.
The 19-year-old winger netted on his debut with a cute finish that he fired into the net after the striking the ball into the ground.
Unfortunately, Evander’s free-kick levelled the contest at 1-1.
Postecoglou seemed delighted with the Israel international post-match:
“It was a bright start by him. His movement was intelligent. He took his goal well and was in the right areas, whipped in a couple of good crosses. He’s literally had two, three sessions with us. It was a promising start. He’s a very talented young player and one we are looking forward to working with,” Postecoglou .

Liel Abada can be delighted with Celtic start
For any Celtic signing, it’s so important to hit the ground running.
Abada has made an ideal start to life in Scotland with a debut goal, so he’ll already have huge support from the fanbase.
The teenage winger needs massive applause because he’s settled into a new environment almost instantly.
He was sacrificed by the manager when Nir Bitton received a red card on the stroke of half time, but he more than played his part with a memorable first-half performance.
It looks like there is so much more to come from him.
