Ange Postecoglou hails 22-year-old Spurs talent after win over Crystal Palace
Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has praised Brennan Johnson following his efforts against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
The Spurs boss, speaking to , said the 22-year-old “did fantastically well” to set up Timo Werner for Tottenham’s equaliser.
Postecoglou’s charges came from behind to overcome the Eagles, the fifth time they’ve bounced back this season after trailing in a match.
Palace opened the scoring in the 59th minute through a superb Eberechi Eze free kick, which left many Tottenham fans dreading a repeat of the Wolves result.
However, Johnson showed great determination to get the better of Joachim Andersen and tee up Werner for his debut Spurs goal on 77 minutes.

Tottenham then turned things around fully just three minutes later, Cristian Romero heading home from James Maddison’s cross.
Spurs made sure of all three points on in the 88th minute as Son Heung-min raced through on goal from Johnson’s quick through-ball and fired home from outside the box.
Brennan Johnson ‘did fantastically well’ in build-up to Tottenham equaliser
Johnson, who came on for Rodrigo Bentancur in the 63rd minute, made all the difference with his tenacity and intensity, helping Tottenham turn the game around.
Postecoglou said: “I thought Brennan was good but I thought all of them were good tonight.
“In those moments we work hard with our wide players to make sure they’re in the right areas and a couple of times tonight we just weren’t when the ball was flashed across.
“Brennan did fantastically well to win back possession and when he’s played it across it’s the other winger that’s there. From our perspective that’s a really important part because it’s not by accident.
“Again you’ve got to be there and I thought Timo, he missed the chance in the first half and he was a constant threat to them and was in the right area for the goal.”
Brennan Johnson firing on all cylinders for Tottenham
It’s great to see Johnson finally in great form and contributing plenty to Tottenham as they continue to push for a top-four place.
Often, players – particularly young players – need a bit of time to acclimatise to a new club and a new way of playing.
Johnson needed a little time to find his feet, which is completely normal, and he’s now in the higher gears and loving life.
