Ange Postecoglou could sell ‘magnificent’ £175k-a-week Tottenham man if the price is right

Tottenham are well stocked in attack with the permanent signing of Timo Werner expected to arrive come the summer – but if they want more additions, they may have too cash in to make some room.

Up front, Spurs have Son Heung-min and Richarlison as options – while Troy Parrott, Dane Scarlett and Alejo Veliz remain on the books. Out wide, Spurs have plenty to choose from, under Ange Postecoglou.

Deki Kulusevski, Brennan Johnson, Werner, Bryan Gil and others. If Spurs are to make signings in attack come the end of the season, then they will have to sell one or two – to bring in funds, and make room.

Son, Kulusevski, Johnson and Werner will almost certainly stay at the London club in the summer. But there are doubts beginning to emerge regarding the future of Brazil striker Richarlison.

Ange Postecoglou willing to sell Tottenham striker Richarlison

Bought for from Everton in the summer of 2022, Richarlison really struggled in his first season – scoring just three goals. That has been put down to an ongoing injury, which he has now sorted out.

This season, he has fared much better under Postecoglou – scoring 11 goals in 26 games and laying on three assists. He has shown moments of quality, including his curling effort against old side Everton.

But there are doubts over his future. Alasdair Gold recently said that he has heard clubs are interested in signing Richarlison at the end of the season. It is unclear how much Tottenham would want for him.

Now, a report from The Evening Standard says that Postecoglou is open to the exit of Richarlison in the next window – but only, if the club receive a big bid for a player Alan Shearer described as “magnificent”.

Who could sign Tottenham’s Richarlison in the summer window

Saudi Arabian clubs showed interest in January and could look to reignite that interest this summer – with Neymar’s Al-Hilal one club to be keen. He has a contract at Tottenham until the summer of 2027.

A move to another English club at this point seems unlikely, given he has already played for Tottenham and Everton. Clubs will fancy they can sign a better player from abroad, on wages a whole lot smaller.

But his form for Brazil will not have gone unnoticed in Spain or Italy, where clubs do have the necessary cash to spend on Richarlison. That could be an avenue for the Brazil man, if he wants to leave Spurs.

The likeliest exit route is a move to Saudi Arabia but at the age of just 26, surely Richarlison will feel he still has more to offer in European football. One to keep an eye on, but maybe no surprise Spurs will sell.
