Ange Postecoglou confirms ‘powerful’ Tottenham teenager will get chances after Richarlison’s injury
Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Richarlison has suffered another injury.
Spurs are hoping to pick up their second win of the season in the Premier League after a dominant performance against Everton last time out.
The North Londoners face Newcastle United away from home on Sunday, and this is a fixture that has been brutal for Tottenham over the last two years.
Richarlison’s injury comes as a blow, especially as Dominic Solanke is out injured too, but that could open the door for a young player to get opportunities after the international break.
Ange Postecoglou says Will Lankshear will get minutes after Richarlison’s injury
Will Lankshear is one of Tottenham’s most exciting young players.
The 19-year-old has been at Spurs since joining them from Sheffield United’s academy in 2022, and his development over the last two years have been amazing.
The young forward was rewarded with a new contract earlier this summer, and everyone at the club is convinced he has a bright future in the game.
Lankshear is currently injured himself, but it is not thought to be anything serious. He should be back very soon, and he get could even get minutes in the first team.
Postecoglou confirmed that he decided to keep Lankshear at the club instead of loaning him out because he can step up when called upon in the domestic cups and in the Europa League.
Now, with Richarlison out injured, the Tottenham manager has confirmed that Lankshear will get minutes if the Brazilian is unavailable for a long period.
He said, as per : “Yeah we’ve been really happy with Will. Unfortunately, he picked up an injury in that game against Bristol Rovers, but he should be all right after the window.
“That’s why we’re keeping him with us, him and Mikey (Moore) are the two young players we’re going to keep with the first-team and the reason we’re going to keep them with the first-team is because we feel like they’re going to contribute and play.
“Whether that is Europa League or Carabao Cup or the league, they’re part of the first-team and if Richy is out for an extended period of time, then Will will definitely be a part of it.
“Will and Mikey have done really well in pre-season and we feel they’ll benefit from being around the first-team.”

Lankshear has been compared to one former Tottenham star
Tottenham fans are really excited about Lankshear and rightly so.
The talented 19-year-old is ‘‘, has good movement, is great in the box and is a fantastic finisher.
He has all the attributes to become a great striker.
Lankshear has even been compared to Harry Kane, who was a hero to Spurs fans and is one of the greatest players to ever play for the club.
If the youngster goes on to become even half as good a player as Kane, he will have a fine career at Tottenham in the coming years.
