Ange Postecoglou confirms £15m Tottenham player could be back from injury vs Bayern Munich

Tottenham Hotspur secured a 4-3 victory on Wednesday against a K League XI in Seoul, South Korea.

It has been a brilliant start to pre-season for Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham who have won all four of their friendlies.

There have been some promising displays to emerge from this summer’s pre-season with players taking their opportunity to impress the manager.

However, Spurs remain without some of their first team players who are still enjoying the last of their summer breaks.

But there could well be one player who may feature on Saturday in the upcoming game against Bayern Munich following a lengthy injury issue.

Ange Postecoglou shares Tottenham injury update

Spurs escaped the game against the K League XI relatively unscathed barring a nasty challenge on Oliver Skipp.

Postecoglou confirmed after the game that the midfielder should be alright considering he was able to finish the game after some medical attention.

There are some notable omissions from the current Spurs side through injury with Richarlison remaining sidelined.

However, there is one first team regular who is also looking set to return to the action over the coming days.

Speaking after the game in Seoul, Postecoglou admitted he is hopeful to see Destiny Udogie return to the squad over the coming days.

“It’s more minutes for the lads. It’s good to get Radu [Dragusin] some minutes, as well. Hopefully Destiny [Udogie] comes back into it in the next few days, so that’s positive,” said Postecoglou.

Udogie has been out of action since the final stages of the 2023/24 campaign where he picked up a quadricep injury which required surgery.

But it seems as if the left-back could now be in contention to feature in the matchday squad on Saturday to face Bayern.

Destiny Udogie has been a huge miss at Tottenham

Udogie missed the final six Premier League games for Spurs last season and the Lilywhites lost four of those games.

That is not to say Spurs would have won all four with the Italian, however, his presence at left-back could have gone a long way in that defeat away to Chelsea which saw Emerson Royal fill in.

But his absence has provided Tottenham a clear need to add at left-back this summer considering Ryan Sessegnon has also left the club.

Spurs landed a real bargain when they paid just for Udogie from Udinese and he has quickly become a real mainstay in the Tottenham XI.
