Postecoglou sends clear trophy message to Tottenham fans
Postecoglou has been discussing what he has learned about Tottenham Hotspur having now been in charge of the club for 50 m🐻atches.
The Australian head coach spoke about un🎃𝐆derstanding the supporters’ desire to win a trophy but he has explained what his vision for success looks like.
Speaking to Optus Sport, Postecoglou said: “You try and understand what you’re walking into before you take a role I’ve always tried to do that. So I’ve taken over﷽ one of the biggest clubs in the world. It has fantastic facilities and resources, which is obꦺvious.
“The other obvious thing is they haven’t had success for quite a whi🍰le and you kind of know what ꦆthat feels like but what does that feel like here [at Tottenham]?
“What I have learned is that there is a desperation for that feeling of we’ve won something, which I understand but don’t necessarily subscribe to. I don’t think that’s where this club really wan𝓀ts to be.”
Postecoglou’s Tottenham trophy plan
However, the former Celtic boss has revealed he is aiming to deliver a constant stream of trophy success in North L🌱ondon rather than fulfilling the supporters’ desperation to just win anything.
He admitted that the Lilywhites’ fans may not fe✅el quite the same way having been deprived of𒉰 success for so long, however, he wants to get them to understand his vision for success.
“I just don’t think it’s a club that wants to win anything I think it wants to be a club that is competing for everything and that’s the bridge I’m trying to build at the momeꦆnt to get everyone to see that,” Postecoglou added.
“But maybe if I was a sup⭕porter I wouldn’t be as willing to accept that as a premise f෴rom a manager because I’m not the one who has been in the terraces for the last 15 years or the last 60 years.”
