Andy Walker says Rangers have a player in their ranks who he finds ‘intimidating’

Glasgow Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor has made Andy Walker’s Scottish Premiership Team of the Year following an incredible campaign for the Ibrox side.

The 39-year-old has been a superb player for the Gers over the years and has been instrumental for the Light Blues in their successful pursuit of title number 55.

McGregor is closing in on 400 competitive appearances for Rangers over two spells, with four Scottish Premiership titles, five Scottish League Cups and three Scottish Cup wins to his name.

This season, the veteran goalkeeper has featured 40 times for Steven Gerrard’s side, keeping 21 clean sheets and conceding just 29 goals.

As a standout player for the runaway champions, it’s little surprise to see McGregor feature in both Walker’s XI and Kris Boyd’s line-up.

“At the age of 39, I’m amazed by Allan McGregor’s fitness, agility, and athleticism,” Walker wrote on .

“I was a striker and knew how to put the ball in the back of the net but there is a bit of an intimidating factor about him.

“It’s his status, what he’s done in his career at Rangers and Scotland, and he’s doing it again at this stage – it has been a remarkable season for him.”

Honestly, what else can be said about McGregor that hasn’t been said? He continues to shine for Rangers and his place as an Ibrox legend is already assured.

Best of all, he recently signed a one-year extension so Bears will get to see at least one more year of McGregor in goal, and hopefully more silverware too.
