Andy Townsend impressed by £20m Arsenal player vs Crystal Palace

Andy Townsend has given his verdict on the goal that Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard scored against Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium.

The former Chelsea player was hugely impressed by the way that Trossard took his goal.

So, what has Andy Townsend said about Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard? Let’s take a look.

Praise for Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard vs Crystal Palace

Well, Arsenal took on Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday. Just as some pundits predicted, the Gunners won the London derby.

Leandro Trossard started the match for the Gunners. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta deployed the £20 million () Belgium international winger on the left of a front-three in a 4-3-3 formation.

Trossard played for 69 minutes. The former Brighton and Hove Albion winger scored the third goal for Arsenal in the 59th minute.

It was a brilliant counter-attacking goal. Goalkeeper David Raya cleared the ball quickly. Gabriel Jesus carried it down the right and provided a brilliant pass for Trossard, who then finished cooly.

Former Chelsea midfielder Andy Townsend was following the match, and he was really impressed by Trossard’s goal.

Townsend said on : “That is better! That is what the top teams do when they get a chance. They can quickly get from back to front and tear teams apart. That is excellent play from Arsenal and a lovely finish from Trossard – he is so cool in those situations.”

My View: Leandro Trossard an important player for Arsenal

In my opinion, Leandro Trossard is an important player for Arsenal and will play his role for the North London club in the coming weeks and months.

Even though the winger is not guaranteed a place in the Gunners’ starting lineup, he is a good player to have in the squad.

Trossard has made seven starts and 10 substitute appearances in the Premier League for Arsenal this season.

The Belgian has scored four goals and given one assist in those games. The winger is one of four players who is outperforming their xG this season.
