Andros Townsend claims Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho is testing Dele Alli
Andros Townsend is predicting that Dele Alli will come through the test of getting back into the good books of manager Jose Mourinho and feels he can recapture his form.
The 24-year-old started the opening day of the Premier League season in the defeat to Everton, but he was substituted off at half-time for an ineffective display and since then has been overlooked by the Portuguese boss.
He was omitted from the squad in games against Lokomotiv Plovdiv and Southampton, which comes at a times where there is speculation about his future.
, French champions Paris Saint-Germain are confident of signing Alli on a season-long loan deal in this summer window
Townsend believes that Alli is going to work his way back into Mourinho’s plans.

“You saw in the documentary how much he (Mourinho) he likes Dele. Maybe he’s not getting what he wants from him, at the minute, and he feels he has to take drastic measures,”
“He has to drop him for a few games to see how he will react, like Jose Mourinho has done many times in his career.
“I think it’s another test for Dele Alli and I am sure he’ll come out the other side back to the Dele Alli we saw at times last season.”
Alli is an intriguing player in the spotlight at Spurs right now and it’s unclear what kind of position he’ll be in when the transfer window shuts, with speculation now linking him with a possible loan departure.
The English attacking midfielder has the ability to force his way into the best XI and nail down a permanent spot, but he’s got to try find consistency in his game and find a way to impress Mourinho on a daily basis.
Tanguy Ndombele appears to have been reintroduced to the main group after common absences from the side, but he’s worked hard to get in the manager’s good books and it’s something Alli needs to do.
