Andros Townsend and Tom Carroll send messages to new Tottenham manager
Ryan Mason is set to embark on his interim spell as Tottenham Hotspur manager on Wednesday night in a crucial Premier League clash against Southampton at home – and both Andros Townsend and Tom Carroll have sent Mason messages.
Following the sacking of Jose Mourinho on Monday, Mason has been placed in charge of the North London club until the end of the season. Still only 29, it is just three years since Mason suffered a horrific head injury that forced him to retire early.
But since then, the former Spurs midfielder has been coaching in the Under-18 and Under-23 set-ups at Tottenham and now has been handed the chance to manage Tottenham. Chris Powell offers experience, while Michel Vorm has returned as a coach.
Plenty of Spurs fans are happy to see the back of Mourinho and equally delighted to see Mason – who is well-liked at Tottenham – to be given a chance. His former Spurs teammates have responded too, in the form of Townsend and Carroll.
lived the dream as a player and now as a manager! Good luck mate 🙏🏽👍🏽 ⚽️

TBR’s view – What are Mason’s chances of permanent role?
Asked about the chances of getting the job beyond the end of the season in his first press conference, Mason stated that he is simply focused on the job in hand – but he would be wrong not to have given it some consideration.
Realistically, Spurs would have to break into the top four and win the Carabao Cup for the ex-Spurs midfielder to be given the chance. Still massively inexperienced, he has plenty to learn and while he might be a future Spurs boss – right now is too soon.
Isn’t it?
