Andrea Radrizzani suggests Leeds will look into signing free agent Edinson Cavani

Andrea Radrizzani has told Sky Sports Italia – – that Leeds United will look into the potential signing of free agent Edinson Cavani following the club’s promotion to the Premier League.

Leeds secured promotion to the Premier League after West Brom and Brentford suffered defeats to Huddersfield and Stoke City last week. The Whites celebrated the title victory with a 3-1 win over Derby County.

Cavani, 33, was released by Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer at the end of Ligue 1 campaign – which has been suspended until France due to the global health crisis. He scored 200 goals in 301 games for PSG.

, the 116-time Uruguay international wants £210,000 a week at his next club – but nevertheless Radrizzani stated he will look into the potential signing of Cavani this summer.

“Cavani could contribute with his physicality and adapt here. I’ve never talked about him with the coach,” “Having said that, we’ve certainly thought about him and we’ll see, given he’s still available on a free transfer.”

TBR’s view – Cavani would be a stunning signing for Leeds

If Radrizzani really wants to spend big and blow the wage budget out of the water, landing Cavani would be a stunning bit of business if he could lure the ex-Napoli man to Elland Road.

Surely, Cavani will look to return to South America or find a final pay cheque in the so-called footballing retirement homes of America, China or the Middle East. But the lure of Bielsa and the Premier League could prove tempting.

After all, Leeds did manage to convince Bielsa.
