Andrea Radrizzani slams officials at half-time before Leeds’s stunning comeback

Andrea Radrizzani took to Twitter to admit that he was left speechless after the first-half of Leeds United’s clash with Millwall, insisting that the standard of officiating was not acceptable.

It was ultimately a fantastic night for Marcelo Bielsa’s side. Leeds scored three times during the second-half to bag the three points against the Lions.

And with West Brom losing and previously-third place Fulham not in action, the Whites are now top of the table and four points clear of the play-off places.

But for a long time, it appeared that it was going to be a miserable evening for the promotion-chasers. Leeds were 2-0 down at the break.

And much of their frustrations were directed at the referee and the other officials. There seemed to be some strange decisions during the first 45 minutes.

Millwall were awarded a goal kick at one stage despite Bartosz Bialkowski saving Stuart Dallas’s effort. And the Whites were furious when the visitors were given a penalty despite the ball seemingly crossing the line for a throw in the build-up.

Leeds were poor defensively at times. The challenge for the penalty looked clumsy, and the opening goal was all too easy for Millwall.

But Whites owner Radrizzani felt compelled to take the unusual step of slamming the officiating at half-time. It was a scathing assessment from the Italian, who called for the introduction of more technology in the second tier.
