Andrea Radrizzani posts first tweet in 12 months after seeing news out of Leeds United

Andrea Radrizzani was an interesting figure when he owned Leeds United.

In a lot of ways, the Italian was a genius. He hired Marcelo Bielsa, he took Leeds back to the Premier League, and he invested money at the right times.

However, much like his predecessor, Massimo Cellino, Radrizzani sometimes didn’t know when to keep his mouth shut.

Radrizzani would often post ill-advised posts on Twitter, now X, about Leeds.

After selling the Elland Road outfit, Radrizzani went quiet on social media – .

However, Radrizzani has now come out of social media hibernation to respond to some news coming out of Leeds.

Andrea Radrizzani’s message to Liam Cooper

Radrizzani hadn’t posted on X for a year, but the news that Liam Cooper had officially said goodbye to Leeds was enough to get Radrizzani to post his first tweet in over a year.

The former Leeds chairman sent his well-wishes to Cooper, thanking him for his service, claiming that he was a real leader and a role model during his time at Leeds,

Of course, Cooper is a modern-day Leeds legend. He captained the club to their Premier League return, and he had some incredible moments in a white shirt.

Liam Cooper’s incredible legacy

The fact that Radrizzani has got back online just to send a message to Cooper goes to show how important a figure he’s been at Leeds.

Yes, Cooper’s ability left plenty to be desired at times, particularly in the final two Premier League seasons, but, he was a brilliant captain and a fantastic leader.

The Scotland international seemed to click with the Leeds fans the moment he stepped foot through the door at Elland Road, and that’s something that a lot of players don’t have.

Cooper will go down as one of Leeds’ great modern captains, and Ethan Ampadu has big shoes to fill as he looks to replace Cooper in the role as skipper.
