Andrea Radrizzani addresses latest Leeds United takeover rumours
Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani has poured cold water on the latest reports of potential investment from Qatar Sports Investment.
The PSG owners have been linked with a potential takeover at Elland Road since the summer. Radrizzani has a close relationship with members of the investment fund and that has clearly seen the potential for financial input climb. ‘

This week, that QSI were edging closer to completing a £120 million takeover of the West Yorkshire club.
But the Leeds chairman hasto make it clear there is ‘nothing concrete’ regarding QSI. The Italian made it clear that whilst there is a ‘desire’ to work together it may not even be in football and that at the moment, amidst the global health crisis, such talk was on the back-burner.
“They are rumors that have been around for over a year. Of course, there is an excellent relationship on a personal level, a desire to do something together, maybe even in football, but nothing concrete at the moment.
“Furthermore, in the past few weeks everything has gone into the background. My desire is to make a great Leeds protagonist in the Premier League and if to do so it will take new partners, in addition to the 49ers San Francisco, we will evaluate it when we are in that championship.”
So instead of Leeds United edging closer to a potential takeover during the lockdown, it would appear the opposite is happening. That would make complete sense. The economic ramifications on football and the world are yet to be realised and despite their near-infinite wealth QSI are unlikely to commit to the takeover of another football club at this time.
But Leeds fans can take heart from the fact Radrizzani is still looking to find more and more investment, in order to help his goal of turning Leeds United back into a Premier League power.
