Andrea Berta should try to sign £75m Premier League attacker who’s ready to join a club like Arsenal

From an attacking perspective, Arsenal are approaching the summer transfer window with two clear objectives.

Andrea Berta is determined to sign a new striker for Arsenal as well as a new right-footed left-winger.

On the striker front, Arsenal are interested in Viktor Gyokeres alongside several other options who each have their own merits as a possible Alexander Isak alternative.

In truth, Arsenal should choose Hugo Ekitike over Gyokeres – a striker who’s much better suited to Mikel Arteta’s needs.

But when it comes to finding the perfect new left winger, Arsenal are trying to sign Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao first and foremost, their ideal signing.

Of course, signing Williams won’t be easy owing to his wages and his desire to play for Barcelona one day, so the Gunners will be looking at alternatives too.

Kaoru Mitoma is ready to leave Brighton for Champions League football

That being said, Arsenal should consider reigniting their interest in Brighton & Hove Albion winger Kaoru Mitoma.

At this point, Mitoma is something of a forgotten talent among Premier League fans who don’t watch Brighton regularly – the 27-year-old isn’t having his most sparkling season.

The Japan international has netted eight goals and provided three assists in 36 games, numbers which aren’t necessarily eye-catching.

However, that shouldn’t deter Arsenal from making a move for a winger who looks as if he’s ready for his next challenge.

In fact, Mitoma is ready to leave Brighton for a Champions League club, and that proves why Arsenal could be his perfect destination.

Brighton received an enormous £75m bid for Mitoma in January from the Saudi Pro League, a move that Mitoma had no interest in given his desire to play in Europe.

Mikel Arteta can repeat his Leandro Trossard trick

Should Arsenal be interested in a move for Mitoma as a Williams alternative, it must be considered that Brighton would accept a slightly lower figure.

By all accounts, Arsenal have a considerable warchest this summer and they could afford a move for Mitoma, even if it cost around the £60m mark.

But for a 27-year-old with all the key characteristics that Arteta wants, a deal could still present excellent value.

Mitoma’s stock seems to have slightly fallen this season as explained, but that therefore could present the perfect opportunity for Berta and his team, who will be well aware of the winger’s ability.

A fascinating talent, and Arsenal could repeat their success in signing Leandro Trossard in his prime years from Brighton.
