Andre Ayew comments on Marcelo Bielsa and Leeds link ahead of January window
Andre Ayew has told French outlet Canal Plus, , that he does not know of any interest from Leeds United but spoke of his “strong” relationship with Marcelo Bielsa after being linked with the Whites last week.
Ayew, who turned 30 earlier this month, has been in stunning form for Swansea this season – after returning to the Welsh club following a disappointing loan spell at Fenerbahce. He has netted 10 times in 22 games, and scored four in three games.
African outlet GhanaSoccerNet have claimed that Ayew is interesting Leeds ahead of the January window. The Ghana captain worked under Leeds boss Bielsa for one season at Marseille, during 2014-15. He has a contract at Swansea until 2021.
The club-record £20million signing () is shining for the Welsh club as they look to make a push for the play-offs, but Leeds may look to bring him to Elland Road in January to bolster their bid for promotion. Ayew responded to the rumours.

“I am not aware of that. I don’t know anything. I don’t have any comment,” “I appreciate Marcelo Bielsa enormously. An incredible manager. We had a very, very strong relationship at Marseille. There you have it. That’s all I can say.
“In terms of transfers. There will be more things that will be said, there have already been things that have been said. Like ‘he’s going there, he’s going to the Premier League, etc.’ I am not thinking about any of that. I am concentrating on here.
“I receive so much love from the stadium, people, from the city, from the club, I am enjoying myself. I feel good.”
TBR’s view – Leeds would have all the ammunition with Ayew
Promotion would go from a possibility to an expectancy. Ayew is the perfect Bielsa player, not only because he is easily of Premier League standard – but because he can play in multiple positions.
Number 10, out wide, in midfield or even up front, the 86-time Ghana international is a top player. If Leeds manage to stump up the cash to land Ayew, then they will massively boost their chances of remaining in the top two.
