Ander Herrera would be a bargain signing for Everton

Everton are reportedly interested in a January move for Manchester United’s Ander Herrera and should press ahead with a deal.

, United are prepared to accept a knockdown price on the midfield enforcer in January and don’t want to lose him on a free next summer when his contract expires.

It is understood that Old Trafford officials will accept a fee between the region of £3million and £5million, with Everton believed to be looking at the him.

Signing Herrera for a seven-figure fee would be a major bargain for any club in England and Everton should try ensure it’s them.

The Spaniard has a no-nonsense approach that would add some extra steel to the Toffees in the centre of the park and he’s also won silverware during his time with Manchester United.

Everton are assembling a formidable squad under manager Marco Silva and Herrera would be another notable addition, especially for such a small fee.

He could certainly compete for a starting XI position at Goodiosn Park alongside the likes of Idrissa Gueye, Morgan Schneiderlin and loanee Andre Gomes, while his experience would be a big help around the dressing room.

Herrara, who currently earns £75,000-a-week (), could be a man very much in-demand across Europe in January.
