‘Amen’ – Liverpool fans react as Xherdan Shaqiri commits his future
Xherdan Shaqiri has reportedly put any transfer speculation to bed by insisting he will stay at Liverpool, .
The Switzerland midfielder is currently away preparing for the UEFA Nations League after winning the Champions League title with Liverpool in Madrid.
But as he heads away for international duty, speculation continues to mount over his future. The left-footed midfielder has moved to clarify his immediate future, claiming he will stay at Anfield.
: “I’m at Liverpool FC, the best club in Europe. The manager has many good options and has to decide who can play.
“I knew before my transfer that the competition here is very tough. I have a long-term contract and I definitely will stay.”
The 27-year-old joined the Reds from Stoke City last summer. And he scored six goals and provided five assists in 30 games during his first season with Liverpool.
