‘Amazing’: Bruno Guimaraes has been left very impressed by Newcastle United teammate

Bruno Guimaraes has paid tribute to Newcastle United match-winner Miguel Almiron after beating Everton last night.

Almiron continued his fine form as the Magpies picked up a hard-fought three points against Frank Lampard’s men.

It was the Brazilian midfielder who played the pass to Almiron, who curled a lovely shot past Jordan Pickford to earn the victory.

Bruno was interviewed by after the game and hailed Almiron, who has come in for criticism during his Newcastle career but is thriving now.

Guimaraes on Almiron

It was put to Guimaraes that Almiron is in the form of his life and he said: “Miggy is an amazing guy.

“I am happy because all my assists are for him. We are happy, we are doing well.

“I am proud of the team and Miggy and it was a big step for us today.”

Eddie Howe has had money to spend and the likes of Bruno have lifted the club but he has also revitalised players such as Almiron.

The Paraguayan playmaker looks far more at home in this more attacking brand of football and he is now getting the goals to show for it.

Fabian Schar is another remnant from the Steve Bruce era who has gone to another level under Howe, and that influence from the former Bournemouth manager has been as important to Newcastle’s improvement as anything.
