Amadou Diawara’s agent confirms Arsenal interest; suggests the midfielder is flattered

Reported Arsenal target Amadou Diawara is said to be flattered by links to the Gunners.

The AS Roma star has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent weeks as a possible, cheaper alternative to Atletico Madrid dynamo Thomas Partey.

that Arsenal are considering making a £27 million offer for the Guinea international.

Diawara has only been with Roma since last summer after transferring from Napoli, and has clocked up 30 appearances to date.

According to Diawara’s agent Daniele Piraino, the player is pleased to learn of interest from Arsenal.

(): “He is concentrated on his career. Diawara is at a top club like Roma, where he is happy, as there is enthusiasm around the new owners.

“However, he is also liked by many clubs in England, including Arsenal.

“Being linked with certain clubs is pleasing for him, as these are prestigious sides.”

TBR’s View – Diawara would be great Partey alternative

Partey is the one most Arsenal fans want and with good reason, but it might be that a deal is just simply to expensive for the club in the current climate (the player is believed to have a £45 million release clause).

The tenacious but tidy Diawara would be a considerably cheaper option for Arsenal – it’s just whether Edu and Mikel Arteta believe he could perhaps become as good as Partey.
