Amad Diallo says 26-year-old Manchester United player is so strong in training

Manchester United winger Amad Diallo has named Lisandro Martinez as the toughest player he has faced in training.

The Red Devils youngster made the claim as he took part in a fan Q&A, as covered on the official Man United .

Martinez has become a fan favourite at Old Trafford thanks in part to his full-blooded and tenacious playing style.

Therefore, it comes as no surprise that the 26-year-old delivers the same intensity when training at Carrington.

Diallo was asked who he found the most difficult to go up against in training, and he didn’t hesitate with his answer.

“Licha [is the most difficult player to face in training],” he responded.

“He’s very strong in the training. For him, the training is like the Champions League final. He never trains easy, he goes stronger, so it’s harder to train against him.”

Lisandro Martinez a big miss for Manchester United due to injury

Martinez joined Manchester United from Ajax in the summer of 2022 for a reported £46million, and enjoyed a bright first season at Old Trafford.

The 26-year-old also shone at international level, being part of the Argentina team that won the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

However, Martinez has struggled on the fitness front this season, making just 10 appearances in all competitions.

He is currently on the side-lines recovering from a knee injury, after spending a significant amount of time out this term due to a foot problem which required surgery.

According to 90Min, Martinez isn’t expected to return until April at the earliest. Let’s hope everything goes according to plan and he can help Manchester United end the season on a high.

The Red Devils are next in action on Saturday, hosting Everton at Old Trafford in the day’s early kick-off.
