Ally McCoist names ‘obvious’ choice for Everton manager as he makes Sean Dyche prediction
Everton have suffered a terrible start to the season and Sean Dyche’s role as manager is already under pressure.
The Toffees sit bottom of the Premier League table after the opening three games of the season with Southampton the only other top-flight club yet to pick up a point.
Everton capitulated in their latest defeat to Bournemouth having held a 2-0 lead up until the 87th minute. A late flurry of goals from Antoine Semenyo, Lewis Cook and Luis Sinisterra gave the Cherries a 3-2 win to stun Sean Dyche‘s side and snatch away what would have been their first points this season.
The Merseyside club looks set for another relegation battle this season and Dyche now finds himself under immense pressure early as the league pauses for the first international break.
The hierarchy at Everton have a decision to make over the coming weeks and Ally McCoist has named the “obvious” replacement if they choose to part ways with Dyche.

Who could replace Sean Dyche at Everton?
It would be incredibly harsh to sack Dyche this early into the season after he guided the club to safety last season in the face of two points deductions.
But the brutal reality is that he is leading the Premier League sack race and with a trip to Villa Park on the horizon after the international break, things will not get any easier.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Ally McCoist backed Dyche to succeed at Everton but named one manager who would be willing to replace him.
“Listen, there’s always people who will go there. The obvious choice because of obvious reasons is David Moyes because he’s not in a job. That’s a given,” McCoist said.
“Moyes, I think, did a fantastic job at Everton in the past. But I take the point to a degree that at this moment in time it’s not the most attractive job.
“But to think that people wouldn’t take it is completely wrong. Certainly one that fits the bill from Everton’s point of view is David Moyes.
“But I don’t see it happening, I think Sean Dyche will be given time to turn the fortunes of Everton around and I think they’ll be okay, I genuinely do.”
David Moyes return to Everton
After a successful 11-year spell as Everton boss previously, Moyes would be welcomed back to Goodison Park with open arms.

He was cast out at West Ham despite leading the Hammers to European glory in 2023 and the Scotsman is more than deserving of another job in the top flight.
But Dyche does deserve time to turn things around at Everton. He was minutes away from claiming an important three points against Bournemouth and he should not take all the blame for his side’s late collapse.
