Ally McCoist claims £40m Man United player never gets the credit he deserves
Ally McCoist has explained why he believes Scott McTominay doesn’t get the credit he deserves at Manchester United.
Scott McTominay has emerged as an important player under Erik ten Hag this term. The Scotsman has managed 21 starts in all competitions for Manchester United and continues to provide in the final third.
Despite his brilliant habit of popping up in the right positions to score, United continue to be linked with midfielders ahead of the summer transfer window.
And Ally McCoist believes McTominay deserves more credit for his impact at Old Trafford.

Speaking on , McCoist claimed that McTominay has never let United down.
“Do you know who I think honestly I’m not sure he gets the credit he deserves, McTominay,” the pundit said.
“We talk about it and say what’s the first thing a new manager is going to do, he’s going to bring in a midfielder, do this and change that. I don’t think McTominay has ever, ever let United down.”
How many goals has McTominay scored for United this season?
Not many would have had McTominay down as a goalscoring midfielder when he emerged as a first-team player at United.
But he’s picked up a brilliant habit of arriving in the box at the perfect time, which has led to him netting nine goals this season.
The 27-year-old’s latest effort came in the 4-3 win over Liverpool in the FA Cup on Sunday and he also provided an assist on the day.

McTominay, who was reportedly valued at around £40 million last summer, has certainly benefitted from playing in a more advanced role for United.
Only Rasmus Hojlund has managed more goals in all competitions than the midfielder, while Marcus Rashford has also scored nine times.
Praise deservedly continues to pour in for McTominay, with Ian Wright lauding him after his FA Cup display against Liverpool.
After the midfielder looked set to leave last summer, it’s difficult to see United cashing in on a player who continues to prove his importance to this current squad.
