Ally McCoist believes ‘times running out’ for Jesse Lingard and Dele Alli
TalkSPORT pundit Ally McCoist believes that Jesse Lingard and Dele Alli may look back on their careers with regret if their malaise continues.
The pair were a key part of Gareth Southgate’s England side that reached the World Cup semi-finals in Russia four years ago.
But now the attacking midfielders are nowhere near the squad due to the miserable season they have both endured.
Alli’s deadline day move to Everton has been nothing short of a disaster and fellow talkSPORT pundit Darren Bent believes the former Tottenham midfielder may need to drop down to the Championship to reignite his career.

Meanwhile Lingard has effectively wasted a season being an onlooker from the Manchester United bench.
Former Rangers striker McCoist is “worried” that if the pair don’t turn things around it may dawn on them in four years time.
McCoist : “Times running out.
“We go back to the 2018 World Cup, Alli and Lingard were England’s better players.
“I’m really worried that they’ll both wake up one morning, four years down the line and say ‘where did my career go?'”
Jesse Lingard could still make Qatar

Lingard looks set to leave Manchester United as a free agent when his contract expires in June and he’ll be looking to secure first team football.
have reported that Tottenham, Newcastle and West Ham all are options for Lingard who wasn’t allowed to leave Old Trafford in January.
After a galvanising loan spell at West Ham during the second half of last season which saw the 29-year-old score nine goals and register five assists from 16 Premier League games, United’s number 14 was included in England’s provisional squad for the European Championships.
Although Lingard didn’t make the final squad he has played a part in England’s World Cup qualifying and is seemingly still in Southgate’s plans.

Regular football and a return to form next season could see Lingard make a late push for Qatar.
On the other hand, it’ll be three years this June since Alli last turned out for the Three Lions and it’s going to have to take a remarkable turnaround for him to re-enter the England fold.
