All of a sudden Premier League clubs are now moving to sign ‘wonderful’ Newcastle player

Premier League clubs are reportedly showing interest in signing Newcastle United midfielder Joe Willock.

That’s according to The Sun, with the outlet claiming that possible departures at Newcastle have prompted teams to ask about signing Joe Willock this month.

The Magpies will be forced to sell if they wish to reinforce Eddie Howe’s squad before Thursday’s deadline.

Miguel Almiron has already been heavily linked with a move away from St James’ Park, as well as Callum Wilson.

But it’s Willock who’s seemingly turning heads in England, with clubs expressing an interest in the midfielder of late.

Premier League clubs want to sign Willock

reports that Newcastle are adamant that Willock is ‘not for sale’ despite interest from the Premier League.

It’s noted that talk of departures has led to clubs asking about signing the 24-year-old. But the Magpies have told potential buyers that Willock will not be leaving St James’ Park this month.

Willock has missed the majority of the campaign through injury but remains a key part of Howe’s plans.

The ‘wonderful’ midfielder starred for the Magpies last season but has seen his progress hampered by injuries.

Indeed, the Englishman managed just three Premier League appearances after returning from a hamstring injury in October.

He has since been ruled out with an Achilles tendon issue and makes up a long list of absentees at Newcastle at the moment.

But you can understand why Newcastle aren’t willing to cash in on Willock.

The former Arsenal man has shown plenty of promise since his move to the north East and at 24, the best is yet to come from the midfielder.

Newcastle are in need of reinforcements in midfield but it would make little sense for them to offload a player like Willock with just the short-term in mind.
