Alfie Haaland sends jibe at Arsenal on social media right after Manchester City’s 5-1 defeat
Manchester City were well and truly dismantled during their 5-1 loss to Arsenal as Mikel Arteta’s side can finally consider themselves a superior side to Pep Guardiola’s juggernaut.
Arsenal fans mocked Manchester City and Erling Haaland, chanting “Are you Tottenham in disguise?” as they had every right to enjoy a dominant display at the Emirates Stadium.
From the very first minute, Arsenal seemed up for the fight as Leandro Trossard pressed Manuel Akanji into making a calamitous error in possession and gift Martin Odegaard the opening goal.
Haaland’s brilliant headed equaliser was not enough to save Manchester City’s blushes as Thomas Partey, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Kai Havertz and Ethan Nwaneri added their names to the scoresheet in what was a devastatingly decisive display from Mikel Arteta’s side.
City’s pride as the reigning champions would have been hurt as they were well and truly humbled.

Alfie Haaland mocks Arsenal after they beat Manchester City
Manchester City are used to winning such do-or-die fixtures and rolling teams over to habitually win major silverware.
But on Sunday, a changing of the guard seemed to be on display as Arteta’s side outclassed, outmuscled and outthought the Sky Blues.
However, Alfie Haaland mocked Arsenal and their lack of success in recent years after their official X account posted a photo captioned, “This team” after they took Manchester City to the cleaners.
“This team that wins everything. Ehhhhh, not.”
Arsenal will likely be unbothered by the former Leeds United midfielder’s comments as they did their talking on the pitch.
Arsenal vs Man City has become a rivalry
In the past two seasons, it seemed like Manchester City and Arsenal’s rivalry was a mere sporting one.
But that seems to have changed due to the feisty nature of the 2-2 draw between both sides at the Etihad Stadium this season.
From Haaland telling Mikel Arteta to “stay humble” to his father taking a jab at Arsenal, it seems like there is a real animosity between both clubs.
As a result, one can expect more such comments from both sides in the coming years.
How this rivalry pans out in the future will be fascinating to see.
