And although he’s determined to succeed at Spurs, Devine has insisted that his focus is all on Port Vale right now.

Of course, the midfielder was speaking after scoring the winner for the side against Mansfield Town in the EFL Cup last night.

Devine’s side will now enter round five of the competition after some remarkable results thus far.

Speaking to the BBC, : “I spoke to a few staff at Tottenham, I know Ange is keeping a lookout on how I’m doing and stuff.

“But I just take every game as it comes and then see what happens from there.

“I’m loving my time here at the moment.”

And Postecoglou will surely be very happy to see Tottenham’s Devine now stepping into a bigger role at Port Vale in recent weeks.

Primarily used as a substitute this season, the midfielder has now been playing 90 minutes.

Devine will surely be learning a ton whilst out on loan right now.

The England youth international was yet to have much exposure to senior football, but is now forging his path.

And should he make rich progress, there certainly could be a role available as James Maddison’s understudy next season.

Giovani Lo Celso was often linked with a move this summer, and it’ll be interesting to see what happens with his future.

Tottenham could easily turn to the market to strengthen the area, but Postecoglou is known for developing youngsters like Devine.

And Spurs fans must be hoping that Ange will find a balance in progressing the club, but also giving academy talents a chance.

One player that Postecoglou does also seem keen to work with again is Celtic’s Matt O’Riley.

Tottenham have now been linked with a £30m move for the midfielder in the near future.
