Alexis Mac Allister replies as Adrian says goodbye to Liverpool on Instagram
Alexis Mac Allister has joined a raft of Liverpool fans in responding to Adrian on Instagram as the goalkeeper said goodbye to the Reds.
Adrian will indeed be leaving Merseyside after five years, with the reporting that Real Betis are keen to bring the 37-year-old back more than a decade after his departure for West Ham.
Of course, Adrian’s departure looks likely to be felt much more off the pitch than on it, with the veteran acting as cover for the likes of Alisson Becker and Caoimhin Kelleher during his time at Liverpool.
The highlight surely came in the 2019 UEFA Super Cup when Adrian proved to be Liverpool’s hero, saving the decisive penalty during the shootout after a superb performance against Chelsea.
Alexis Mac Allister messages Adrian after Liverpool exit
Adrian has now taken to to send a message to the Liverpool supporters, speaking about the impact playing for the Reds has had on his family and how his time with the club will stay with him forever.

He did not provide any indication of what lies next for him, but one of those to pay tribute to Adrian was Alexis Mac Allister, who suggested that the goalkeeper had been a big help in the year following his move from Brighton…

A surprisingly tough void to now fill
It is becoming increasingly clear just what an important role third choice goalkeepers play for these big clubs. It has the potential to be an extremely tough position given that they are highly unlikely to play at all – Adrian made 26 appearances across five seasons for the Reds.
But they have to be good enough to push the top two while also being content with their lack of game-time, and for that, Adrian appeared to be absolutely ideal.
And while his departure may not have an obvious impact on the club’s fortunes under Arne Slot, it does appear that he will leave a bit of a void around the place day to day.
