Alexander Isak now ‘confident’ that Liverpool move is inevitable as Newcastle talks progress
TBR Football understands that Alexander Isak is ‘confident’ of securing a move to Liverpool from Newcastle United this summer as talks over his potential contract have taken place.
Sources from both clubs have confirmed to TBR Football that talks are taking place with intermediaries working hard on what a prospective deal might look like.
We are told that Liverpool will not make their official bid until they believe that a deal is in place, and that will be a British record if, and when, Newcastle United accept.

It is understood that Liverpool is prepared to pay Isak over £300,000 a week. Discussions have taken place via intermediaries, and that is believed to be what the Swede would be hoping for – putting him just behind the likes of Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk in terms of salary within the Anfield squad.
Exclusive: Alexander Isak confident Liverpool move will go through
TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, suggests there is confidence within the Isak camp that he will seal his move to Liverpool, rather than if.
Newcastle are insistent they will not allow Isak to leave without a replacement, and we understand they are making moves in that regard.
Bailey states: “Sources close to the situation have told me that things are progressing. Isak has made it clear he wants out, but Newcastle are insistent that this only happens on their terms.

“There is an absolute confidence from Isak’s camp that he does move this summer, not overly and not cocky in any way, but they think this is progressing in the right way.
“Newcastle are back from Asia next week, things should have moved on by that point.”
Isak is currently training with Sociedad ahead of a proposed move, which, as Bailey states, now has legs.
