Alexander Isak has already said exactly what he thinks about Arne Slot’s style of play as Liverpool consider bid
Whispers involving Liverpool and Alexander Isak are refusing to go away.
Few would have felt the Reds would target another player worth over £100m this summer – Liverpool are already close to signing Florian Wirtz in a £116m move from Bayer Leverkusen.
However, TBR Football understand Liverpool do have the money to sign Isak as well as the Germany international this summer, and are likely to act if the Sweden international shows any resistance towards signing a new contract at Newcastle.
As the situation goes on, Alexander Isak has already made some very interesting comments about Liverpool and Arne Slot.
Alexander Isak has already suggested he would love to play under Arne Slot at Liverpool
Speaking to back in March ahead of the Carabao Cup final, the Newcastle No.14 praised Liverpool and the style of football they play under the Dutchman.
Isak said: “I really enjoy the games against Liverpool, because I think they’re not too different to ourselves, a high-pressing team and a direct team, which can lead to many counter-opportunities, and that’s the game I like.”
The Swede has also named Anfield as one of his favourite stadiums.
When asked the question by Sky Sports, Isak responded: “Anfield is good, very good.”
Isak clearly has a lot of admiration for Liverpool, so if Richard Hughes – Director of Football at Anfield – does end up submitting a bid, it will be quite intriguing to see what happens.
Even Arsenal know Liverpool hold pole position if Alexander Isak move becomes realistic
Arsenal also like the 25-year-old, but there is an acceptance at the Emirates Stadium that Liverpool are favourites to sign the striker if a move ends up looking feasible.
TBR Football understand Arsenal have even started to back away from Isak and explore alternatives such as Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres, due to the fact Liverpool are growing in confidence over a deal.
For now, this is a dormant situation, but if the man from Solna puts contract talks with Newcastle on hold, Liverpool are ready to act.
