Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold adds PSG’s Neymar to his list of victims

Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold added another big name to his ever-growing list of victims .

The England international, still only 19, put in a solid display for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

The youngster was mightily impressive against the French champions’ dangerman Neymar, and didn’t give him anything at Anfield.

The Brazilian showed flashes but ultimately failed to make a significant impact on the game, and that was mainly down to the tracking of Alexander-Arnold, and also James Milner who helped out his young colleague a few times.

It was a brilliant display from the defender, who looks like he will make the right-back spot his own.

Just another day at office

Alexander-Arnold can now add Neymar’s name to the list of stars he’s dealt with.

He also fared fantastically well against Cristiano Ronaldo in the 2018 Champions League final.

Liverpool ultimately lost that game but young Alexander-Arnold was praised for his maturity in dealing with one of the world’s best.

He also got the better of Manchester City winger Leroy Sane in both legs of last year’s quarter-final.

At Anfield on Tuesday, Alexander-Arnold again showed no signs of being overawed by the presence of a top player.

Neymar was restricted to making runs across the pitch and away from Alexander-Arnold’s area of operation.

What’s more, Neymar and Mbappe swapped flanks on occasion and the Frenchman fared no better.

He’s going to become a star
