Alejandro Garnacho suggests Man Utd once had a player who was better than Cristiano Ronaldo
Things aren’t going too well at Manchester United right now, but one thing you can never take away from the Red Devils is their incredible history.
Indeed, while Manchester United may be thinking about relegation right now, they’re still the 20-time champions of England who have had some incredible players over the years.
Speaking to Pro Direct Soccer on TikTok, Alejandro Garnacho has been taking part in a challenge where he’s been ranking and rating 10 great players in United’s recent history.
Garnacho is a huge Cristiano Ronaldo fan, and Garnacho has even been compared to Ronaldo, but in his rankings, there was one player who he rated more highly than the Portuguese winger.

Alejandro Garnacho ranks Ryan Giggs above Cristiano Ronaldo
Garnacho ranked 10 of United’s greatest ever players.
The Argentine had Ronaldo down as the second-best of the bunch, before eventually placing Ryan Giggs ahead of the winger.
Giggs, of course, was a true United legend, winning 13 league titles with the club.
Ronaldo would go on to surpass Giggs as a player, but in terms of impact at United, the Welshman has an argument for being the club’s greatest-ever player.
“Giggs, oh, that could be the number one man, yeah, put him at number one and then Zlatan at number seven and it’s perfect,” Garnacho said.
The stats show exactly why Garnacho has placed Giggs above Ronaldo.

It wasn’t just Giggs and Ronaldo who Garnacho placed in his top 10 rankings.
Indeed, Garnacho rated a number of other United legends, and his list makes for interesting reading to say the least.

Garnacho had some very tough decisions to make here, but, mostly, he got it spot on.
It’s no surprise that all of Garnacho’s top six players are from the golden era under Alex Ferguson.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic slots in just behind Rio Ferdinand in seventh place, and while he on’t spent a season and a half at Old Trafford, he was truly brilliant in that time.
Robin van Persie is a true Premier League great in his own right, and perhaps he should rank higher on this list.
Van Persie was a better finisher than Thierry Henry according to Theo Walcott, and his 2012/13 season for United is one of the best in the history of the Premier League.
Garnacho may only be a young man, but he certainly knows his stuff when it comes to United’s history and their legendary players.
