Albert Sambi Lokonga posts four word message on Instagram after claims he’s close to leaving Arsenal

Albert Sambi Lokonga is all set to leave Arsenal this summer.

The Gunners haven’t done much on the transfer market yet, but they are expected to be busy from now until the end of the window.

All eyes will be on incomings as Mikel Arteta hopes to go one step further after finishing twice in each of the last two Premier League seasons.

However, there will be plenty of outgoings as well, with reports claiming that Arsenal have placed 10 players on the chopping block.

Lokonga is one of them.

Arsenal’s Albert Sambi Lokonga’s four-word message on Instagram

Arsenal signed Lokonga from Anderlecht in the summer of 2021.

The Belgian was viewed as a player for the future at the Emirates, but he showed his quality very early in his Emirates career.

However, in the second half of his debut campaign, Lokonga’s form and confidence both dropped, and he just hasn’t been able to produce the goods at the level required since.

The midfielder spent the last 18 months on loan – first at Crystal Palace and then at Luton Town last season. His performances for Rob Edwards’ side were very, very good – Gary Neville even branded Lokonga as ‘outstanding’ following a game against Manchester United (, February 18th, 17:50).

Following Luton’s relegation, Lokonga revealed that he needs to leave Arsenal, and he has been heavily linked with a move away since.

Sevilla look like the favourites to sign the Belgium midfielder. Reports have even claimed that Lokonga is on the verge of leaving Arsenal to head to Spain.

Ahead of the potential move, Lokonga took to Instagram to share a few pictures of himself in training.

He captioned the post by saying: “Preparing for what’s next!”

Arsenal were forced to change their plan for Lokonga

Lokonga really needs to leave Arsenal.

The 24-year-old is a talented player, but he just has no place in Arteta’s side. He needs to move on for his own good and the Gunners wanted to cash in on him too.

However, there were no buyers for the Belgian midfielder – Sevilla only wanted him on loan. Arsenal tried to include an obligation-to-buy clause in the deal, but the Spanish side weren’t willing to agree to that.

So, reports have revealed that Arsenal have changed their mind and have now agreed to loan out Lokonga without a straight obligatory clause included in the deal.

However, there will likely be certain conditions in the contract, which if met would force Sevilla to sign him on a permanent deal in the summer of 2025.
