Alasdair Gold shares what he heard about Rodrigo Bentancur after his injury vs Leicester
Tottenham Hotspur drew with Leicester City on Monday, but the game was somewhat overshadowed by an injury suffered by Rodrigo Bentancur.
Bentancur took a serious blow to the head as he clashed with Abdul Fatawu from a corner before having to be stretchered off.
The Uruguayan has had rotten luck with injuries over the past two years, and this looked like it could be a serious incident.
Luckily, there was a positive update on Bentancur’s injury after the game, and now, Alasdair Gold has shared another piece of insight.
Speaking on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast, Gold has been discussing Bentancur’s injury, and he says that the midfielder was spotted after the game walking normally and speaking to his teammates. However, he did have two serious bumps on his head.
Rodrigo Bentancur looked fine after the game
Gold shared what he’d been told by the press pack about Bentancur after the game.
“Yeah a couple of journalists in the mixed zone afterwards. I was at the presser, but they were in the mixed zone,” Gold said.
“They said that they saw him walking out with the squad, he looked ok, he was talking away to Romero, but he did have two massive, you know when it bubbles up when you’ve had a massive hit, he had that on his temple.”

Rodrigo Bentancur’s terrible luck
It’s great to hear that Bentancur was fine after the game, but he has had some terrible luck with injuries as of late.
The midfielder tore his ACL at the King Power Stadium last time he played there, and now, he was on the wrong end of a very scary collision.
Luckily, this issue doesn’t appear to be as serious as it initially looked like it could’ve been, and Bentancur should be fine to return to action before too long.
Fingers crossed Bentancur’s luck improves on the injury front and he can have a big season for Tottenham.
