Alasdair Gold gives update on Tottenham interest in Leandro Trossard

Alasdair Gold says Tottenham have been offered the chance to sign Leandro Trossard from Brighton this month.

Gold discussed links between Spurs and the Brighton forward on his channel, and the also report he is a target.

They report that Lucas Moura’s deal will expire at the end of the season and he could even leave this month if a suitor can be found.

That means that a new forward is a priority in January for Spurs, and Trossard has emerged as a target, with Gold having this to say:

Tottenham offered Trossard

“Another link I’ve seen this week, Leandro Trossard. From what I understand, I think he’s been offered around a few clubs,” said Gold.

“He wouldn’t be that expensive. He’s 28, not a normal Spurs profile signing but I can 100% see him as a Conte and a Paratici profile signing.

“I don’t think Paratici will always look to young players. One to keep an eye on. I wouldn’t rule it out, because it seems like a ready made player who has been there and done it and scored goals in the Premier League.

“So if it’s a good price, I can’t see why they wouldn’t try. I would also add Spurs are going to be a offered a lot of players.”

Trossard has been described as ‘‘ but has recently been by Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi about his commitment to the cause.

The also report links with Newcastle, who poached Dan Ashworth from Brighton, and Graham Potter’s Chelsea.

Ahead of the north London derby, Arsenal have also been linked with the Belgian international, as they look for a wide forward this month.

Trossard is a proven Premier League performer, who looks ready for a move to the next level and at his age, this could be his last big contract.

That said, questions over his commitment at this stage and talks of his agent offering him around may concern potential suitors and for Antonio Conte, personality is just as important as quality.
