Alasdair Gold delivers January blow as Tottenham reportedly eye Serie A raid

that he is heading Dusan Vlahovic does not want to leave Fiorentina in January. Tottenham, among numerous clubs, are reportedly keen on the Serbian sensation.

Vlahovic, 21, has been in sensational form for Fiorentina. Having netted 21 Serie A goals for La Viola last season, this season he has taken his form a step further. He has 18 goals in 22 appearances for Fiorentina, in all competitions.

But his contract at Fiorentina is due to expire in June 2023, and Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso recently confirmed he has turned down a contract renewal. Commisso also said that Vlahovic will be sold in 2022.

Whether that is January, or in the summer, remains to be seen. But Gold has given an update on Tottenham’s interest in Vlahovic, stating that he is hearing the striker would rather remain at Fiorentina until the summer.

“From what I understand, seems to be a little bit of a reluctance from him to leave midway through the season. I think he feels that he wants to leave Fiorentina kind of with a full season of what he can do,” Gold said.

Gold on Vlahovic: Tottenham need a striker, but do they need him?

Harry Kane seems happy. He is scoring goals again in the Premier League, three in his last three games and now four in total. Multiple reports have suggested that he is delighted with the appointment of Antonio Conte.

So, do Spurs need a striker that is going to cost them north of £50million – or one that is simply happy to provide cover for Kane, to an adequate level? Surely, it makes sense to sign the latter – Carlos Vinicius was a prime example.
