Alan Stubbs talks up David Moyes’ credentials to take over at Everton again
Former Everton defender Alan Stubbs is concerned about his old club’s fortunes and tipped David Moyes to do a good job if he was called upon at Goodison Park for a second time.
As per , Stubbs also said that Liverpool have one hand on the Premier League title and shared his concern about Everton’s chances at Anfield.
He : “It’s been a real struggle for Everton and going to Anfield is as tough as it comes right now. Liverpool are too strong at the moment and they’re already one foot over the line (in the title race).
“Eddie Howe, the fans are not convinced about that. David Moyes will be the same, but I think David is a safe pair of hands. Everton are in a real precarious position right now. I hope it isn’t, but come the end of the December with our run of games , we could still be looking at 14 points, which is real concern.”

TBR’s View – Everton fans should be able to dream of more than a ‘safe pair of hands’
One of the reasons Moyes’ reappointment would be so unpopular is that it would indicate the club are back at square one despite the investment which was meant to lead them into a brave new era after his departure.
A club of such history and who have spent so much should be able to aim for far more than a ‘safe pair of hands’ whose career has nosedived since leaving Goodison in 2013.
Everton might be in the bottom three during the festive period but they won’t get relegated. That panicked thinking led to Sam Allardyce’s appointment, which also lumbered Everton with expensive flops Theo Walcott and Cenk Tosun.
