Alan Stubbs praised Celtic’s Ryan Christie following his performance on Saturday afternoon in the draw away to Hibernian.
The Bhoys dropped their first league points of the season, as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Easter Road.
Hosts Hibernian found themselves in front after only eight minutes when defender Kristoffer Ajer netted an own goal from a cross into the box.
But Neil Lennon’s team responded midway through the first-half and it was Christie header that was fired in from a Moritz Bauer cross.
Christie timed his run well into the box to put in a towering header and he has been in excellent form all season.
The attacking midfielder now has a sensational return of 11 goals and five assists in his 17 games across all competitions so far this campaign.
He is given licence by Lennon to drift in from the left flank to influence play and was at the heart of everything positive for Celtic on their trip to Hibernian.
Ex-Celtic defender Stubbs picked out Christie for his contribution and believes he keeps getting better.
“His (Christie) all round game is improving as the weeks go by. He will drop deep and link up the play, the next minute you know he’s in the box on the end of the crossing,”
“When you have got that quality it’s a massive addition to the team.”
TBR’s View:
Christie is becoming a real talisman at Parkhead and has taken the attacking side of his game up another level this season.
The 24-year-old is someone playing with great confidence on the ball and is proving that he can score a variety of different goals, including the eye-catching header on Saturday.
He is a Scottish playmaker that doesn’t look like scoring right now and Lennon has a gem in the ranks.
