Alan Smith reacts to Sergio Reguilon display in Tottenham win
Alan Smith that he thought Sergio Reguilon produced a really good performance as he named the Tottenham Hotspur defender as the man of the match following their win over Leeds United on Sunday.
Spurs played their part in a dramatic clash in North London. It had appeared that they were in danger of a hugely disappointing loss in Antonio Conte’s first Premier League game at home.

They went into the break 1-0 down. And they were booed off by some of the home supporters after an extremely poor display.
But Tottenham turned the game around in the second-half. They hit the woodwork on two occasions. And goals from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Reguilon ensured that they got the three points.
The contrast between the home side’s first and second-half performances was remarkable. And Smith suggested that Reguilon – who will be one of several Tottenham players disappointed with his role in the opponents’ goal – was, ultimately, the standout.

“I’m going to give it to the lad who appears to be the match-winner,” , when asked to name his man of the match. “But Reguilon’s had a really good performance second-half, much better than the first.
“He was alive to put in that goal from the free-kick. Conte’s going to have to rely on his wing-backs in this system. And I think Reguilon could play a big part.”
Reguilon shows glimpse of his potential as Tottenham turn game around
It is clear that both Reguilon and Emerson Royal are going to be hugely important players while Conte is at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Both produced mixed performances on Sunday. Emerson was beaten far too easily by Jack Harrison in the build-up to Leeds’ goal.
But they have also shown at times this season – and last, in Reguilon’s case – just how good they can be.
And the turnaround in Tottenham’s performance just highlights the impact Conte could have on their respective games.
Reguilon already has a winner and a man of the match award under his belt.
