Alan Shearer shocked by what Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho did during Man United vs Chelsea
Manchester United certainly demonstrated why they are in desperate need of Ruben Amorim’s fresh ideas and charisma during their 1-1 draw with Chelsea.
Ruud van Nistelrooy doesn’t deserve to face any criticism during his brief spell in charge of Man United, but the hosts’ game plan looked as disjointed as ever at♑ Old Tr𝄹afford.
United are crying out for significant change, and Amorim’s 3-4-3 should be greeted with real optimism, even if it doesn’t perfectly marry to full-backs available at th🐼e club right now.
That being said, Harry Ma🏅guire is determined to prove himself to Amorim as part of his new back three – the En🌄gland ❀international doesn’t want to leave United next summer.
But when speaking on ‘The Rest is Football’ podcast, it was a problem with United’s forward line that Alan Shearer pointed out ahead of Amorim’s arrival.
Rubem Amorim already has a problem with Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho
Shearer was respond🍷ing to a question about how much football players p🍸ractise beating the offside trap.
The pundit’s mind immediately went to Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho at United, who were often ൲guilty of getting itꦫ wrong against Chelsea.

Shearer compared the duo to Erling Haaland at Manchester City, who has only be c✱alled up once for being offsi✨de in the Premier League so far this season.
He said: “I was thinking that on Sunday, you know, I was watching Man United and I was looking at Garnacho and I was looking at Haaland and I was looking at Rashford and I was thinking, the number o🅠f times you’re offside,ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ it’s like, are you working on this?
“Are you aware of it or what? Goodness me.”

Amorim might try Garnacho as a wing-back in new formation
It’s something Amorim will need to promp𒊎tly address, and judging by Sporting CP’s performance against Man City on Tuesday evening, United’s players are about to be held to higher standards.
And on the subject of Garnacho, it’s currently di☂fficult to imagine how United’s existing full-backs will fit into the wing-b✅ack roles that Amorim has always used in Portugal.
Noussair Mazraoui looks like a shoe-in to play on the right🍃, but with Luke Shaw so often a♔bsent owing to injury of late, perhaps Garnacho might play slightly deeper at first.
Long-t🥀erm, Amorim will surely want to use the youngster as one of the two playing 🎃behind his striker.
However, ꧒there’s certainly merit to trying Garnacho in a new role,🎃 something that would help with his issue of being offside, at least.
