Alan Shearer says Tottenham have a £34m player who’s just ‘tireless’

Tottenham Hotspur answered their critics at the weekend with an emphatic 4-0 win over Everton in north London.

Spurs were eager to make amends for thei꧅r 1-1 draw at Leicester City, a game in💧 which they should have won convincingly but for their wastefulness.

Ange Postecoglou’s charges did just that at the Totten❀ham Hoꦑtspur Stadium as they hammered a dismal Toffees outfit.

Tottenham opened the scoring in the 14th minute as Yves Bissouma fired💞 home from the edge of the box via the underside of the bar.

Spurs were then two ꦑto the good on 25 minutes thanks to a Jordan Pickford error, a heavy touch from a back pass w🌜hich Son Heung-min duly slotted home.

Cristian Romero then added a ꦅthird in the 71st minute, the Tottenham centurion ris𒀰ing highest at a corner to nod home off the underside of the bar.

Son then got his second of the game six minutes later, firing a simple finish through Pickford’s legs after great work from the marauding Micky van de Ven.

Tottenham’s efforts saw Alan Shearer name three of their players in his latest Premier ꧅Le⛄ague Team of the Week.

Alan Shearer hails ‘tireless’ Tottenham star Micky van de Ven

Van de Ven’s impressive run from the edge꧃ of his own box to just outside Everton’s area earned quite a few plaudits over the past few days.

For instance, Ian Wright said what he saw from the🅠 Spurs speedster was “so impressive”, while Shearer deemed him “magnificent”.

The Newcastle icon has now named Van de Ven in his selection, along 🥂with Cristian Romero and Son Heung-min.

Shearer said of Van de V൩en on the : “Gave a tireless display at both ends of the pitch.

“Nothing got past⛎ him, and his brilliant run set up Spurs’ fourth goal.”

Meanwhile, Shearer said of Romero: “Scored Sp👍urs’ third goal with a towering header and ensured it was a tough afternoon for Everton’s forwards.”

And Son’s assessment was: “Playing as a centre-forward in Dominic Solanke’s absence, he ran E🍰vert♌on ragged, and also scored twice.”

What the media said about Van de Ven’s display

gave th🌱e £34million man a 7 out of 10 for his efforts on the day.

“Used that trademark pace on plenty of occasions and didn’t do much 🌼wrong on his side✃,” wrote Alasdair Gold.

Meanwhile, the went with an impressive 9🐻 out of 10 for Van de🌺 Ven.

“Dribbled from the edge of his own box to set up Sဣon’s second and Spurs’ fourth goal in what could easily be the assist of the season,” wrote Dan Kilpatrick.
