Alan Shearer says one Liverpool player has been so unbelievably ‘important’ for Jurgen Klopp this season
Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has made Alan Shearer’s Premier League Team of the Season.
The Reds attacker has been sensational for Jurgen Klopp’s side since his move to Anfield from Roma in 2017.
Salah has made 203 competitive appearances for Liverpool, scoring 125 goals and registering 47 assists.

This season just gone, the Egypt international has claimed 31 goals and six assists, including 22 goals in the Premier League.
His efforts have been crucial in getting Liverpool over the line and into the top four of the table, securing Champions League qualification.
Salah scored five goals and claimed two assists in Liverpool’s last nine league games of the season, with victories in the last five.
And Shearer was so impressed with the 28-year-old that he named him in his TOTS, the only Liverpool player to make the cut.
“Without him, Liverpool wouldn’t have enjoyed such a strong end to the season,” the Premier League legend.
“His goals have been more important in a campaign when others have struggled to finish.”
TBR View:
Salah has stepped up during a season when Liverpool were very much in dire straits compared to where they’ve been the last few years.
A glut of top players out injured, confidence draining every week, the normally amazing attacking trident out of form – the Reds have had many, many issues.
But Salah was by far the most consistent of the front three, and his impressive goal contribution run at the end of the season has been so crucial.
