Alan Shearer says £43m player had an attitude problem when he was at Arsenal
The Arsenal dressing room has been a manic place at times over the past few years.
Indeed, while things are going well at the moment, it’s not always been harmonious behind the scenes at the Emirates.
There’ve been a fair share of bad eggs over the past few years with the likes of Matteo Guendouzi and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang being frozen out, while Granit Xhaka had his own issues at one point.
Speaking on the , Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker have been discussing another former Arsenal player – Mesut Ozil.
Ozil, of course, left Arsenal in strange circumstances when he was released a few years ago, and Shearer believes that the man had an attitude problem during his time at Arsenal.

Mesut Ozil had an attitude problem
Shearer spoke about the midfielder alongside Lineker.
“Do you think it was down to when he wants to be good? Don’t all footballers want to be good all the time? Or do you think it’s down to his attitude? Lineker asked.
“At times there was wasn’t there. You can’t tell me that his attitude was right all the time, could he have given more at times?” Shearer said.
Mesut Ozil was a unique player
It’s hard to ever truly know whether or not a player has an attitude problem.
At times, it did look like Ozil wasn’t giving his all on the pitch, but he looked just as disinterested on his best days as he did on his worst days.
Ozil was just one of those players, he had a laid-back style, and sometimes, that can translate into looking like you don’t care.
The reality is that Ozil was a fantastic player, and you don’t get this far into the game unless you work hard and care about your craft.
Ozil was an enigma of a player, but he was incredibly successful, and you can’t get that far with a bad attitude.
