Alan Shearer says £27m Arsenal player has done something ‘unbelievable’
Arsenal are currently one of four Premier League teams with two wins to their name after the first two matchweeks.
The Gunners followed up their 2-0 opening-day win over Wolverhampton Wanderers with a 2-0 triumph at Aston Villa on Saturday.
Arsenal had to wait until after the hour mark to break the deadlock, but it didn’t take long for them to add a second on the scoreboard.
Mikel Arteta’s charges scored on 67 minutes as Leandro Trossard, who had come on just two minutes earlier, rifled in a first-time finish.
Arsenal then doubled their advantage just 10 minutes later as Thomas Partey fired in at the near post following great work from Bukayo Saka.
When it came to standout players on the day, however, the main shout is one who didn’t get on the scoresheet.
Indeed, Alan Shearer has now named said player in his Premier League Team of the Week, the only Arsenal player who made the cut.

Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya was on hand to pull off two great saves in quick succession just before the hour mark.
Amadou Onana was teed up for a shot, which came off Gabriel and looped up in the air for Raya to push onto the bar.
Ollie Watkins was in the right place for the follow-up, and it would’ve been easier to score, but he fired straight at the man.
Raya’s heroic double save saw Shearer name him in his selection and sing his praises.
“An unbelievable save from Watkins when it was 0-0,” he wrote on the .
“And a few others to keep back-to-back clean sheets and set up Arsenal for the statement win.”
Gary Neville also sung Raya’s praises, describing his saves as “magical” towards the end of the game.

What the media said about Raya’s performance
gave Raya a 9 out of 10 rating for his efforts on the day.
“A world-class stop to keep out Watkins’ header,” they wrote. “Miraculous reflexes from such close range.
“Superb aside from that with his positioning and distribution. Arsenal have a world class ‘keeper between the sticks!”
Likewise, the went with a score of 9 out of 10 for the Spaniard.
“Made a stunning save early in the second-half when Ollie Watkins looked certain to score,” they wrote.
“Was excellent all game and commanded his area well.”

Arsenal are next in action on Saturday 31 August as they contest the day’s early Premier League fixture.
The Gunners host Brighton & Hove Albion at the Emirates Stadium in a 12:30pm kick-off.
